Make a gggrrrreat impression!
Every season, they predict its extinction, and every season, it’s back again, like the phoenix rising from the ashes. Leopard print: love it or hate it, everybody has their opinion. To tame this beast, it’s certainly best to be in-the-know.
On the spring summer 2018 catwalks, leopard print was spotted(!) in a multitude of styles. We saw it in romantic mode at Stella McCartney, with a rock touch at Saint Laurent, and androgynous at Balenciaga. The leopard is majestically working its way into our everyday wardrobes, with its black and beige spotted coat flamboyantly and mysteriously bringing out our wilder side. We love it in high quality fabrics such as cotton or faux fur, with a matte finish. It’s best to avoid skin-tight shapes with leopard skin; instead, we prefer basic and simple designs.
The risk with leopard print is of committing a dreaded fashion faux-pas. There’s a fine line between a cool feline saunter and a gaudy cartoon look, so it’s vital to combine it wisely.
In small doses on a scarf or belt, leopard print is shown off in all its splendor with denim (jeans and shirt) and stripes (France’s famed Breton top). On shoes, it adds a certain bite to your outfit. From gladiator sandals to sexy pumps or low rock-chick boots, with leopard print, you’re guaranteed a slinky panther look! We wear them with boyfriend jeans or ankle grazers. Beige, black and anthracite grey also go well with this animal print. Bolder fashionistas might want to team it with brighter colors and zingy tones - that should wake up the beast!
We love leopard print on a bag, shirt, skirt and all over! For a really chic silhouette, leopard print has the power to create a really elegant look. It doesn’t have to be an endangered species in your wardrobe. So, learn to tame it, and you may see your animal magnetism starting to roar. And when you go out in the evenings, it will make a gggrrrreat impression!
