The 2022/2023 Fall-Winter trends that we'll fall in love with this season
The loafer
It’s THE quintessential back-to-work essential! The shoe that gives us a (deceivingly) preppy look without any effort at all. We prefer a comfortable pair to make us feel good. After all, the loafer can be worn (when temperatures allow) without socks, accompanied by cropped trousers and a micro bag under the arm! This season, several teams are vying for our attention:
- The Miu Miu schoolgirl version
- Straight to the office (but with a little airing for the toes) by Louis Vuitton.
- The XXL wooden heel from Gucci is perfect for those looking to gain a few more centimetres.
- Preppy and chic with Vanessa Wu.
We’re lucky enough to have the choice between a posh pair, or a pop punk version which (over)plays with volume.
The futurist sneakers
Comfort and style; everything we love. This season, we're playing around with different materials and texture inserts, animal prints...; our sneakers are becoming playgrounds in their own right, and that's a good thing! The soles are graphic and reminiscent of pop culture; nothing is left to chance. Slipping on our sneakers will bring us joy and any doom and gloom will just fade away into the distance... Colour gradients on the feet and dyed laces; this season, bold is our motto. We’re not afraid of anything! Our colourful Vanessa Wu sneakers perfectly complement a fairly strict office girl look, like The Row, and on a completely different note, the classic cyclist/big sweatshirt/sneakers look will be making a comeback this fall.
The cowboy boot
For fashionistas who are afraid of nothing (for example Maoui) or for the more timid amongst us who are perhaps looking to customise their somewhat simple wardrobe, this ankle boot (directly from the USA) is just for you!
Beware, there are cowboy boots and then there are cowboy boots... From a more eccentric look, with prints and bright colours, to the more traditional black or beige cowboy boot, we have something for all tastes; designers have excelled themselves in having fun and letting loose with wild-west inspirations. On a very cold day, a boot version will be ideal with a sweater dress and tights (pov: we stay true to this classic winter look but add a little twist with an original shoe). In boot format, it's this little folk touch that never fails to enhance a simple pair of trousers. You only need to take a look at the Winter 2022 Chanel haute couture show, where the cowboy boot featured on practically all the model’s feet.
It has been appearing on the catwalks and on the street for several seasons now, and if you follow our news, Betty Auttier will certainly not tell you any different...
Conclusion
As you have probably already realised, this season our shoesing is here to bring us comfort and boost our self-esteem. We’re being bold and daring to wear shoes which make us feel and look good. More in the mood to grab life (and the bull) by the horns? We’re jumping straight into cowboy boots! For a studious start, we don our loafers! And finally, to make sure we do our 10 000 steps a day while remaining comfortable and stylish, we turn our attention to colourful avant-gardist sneakers. So, what trend will you be buzzing about this season?
